How to Use the Text Sales Report

This guide will help you generate a comprehensive sales report using the tools available in your system. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to customize and extract the sales data you need.

To properly use the Text Sales Report there are a few areas that must be filled out before querying the database. 

  • This report is not intended for financial or tax-payable purposes. Please use the appropriate tax payable report in the financial area for tax-related matters.
  • Depending on the selections made, the report generation time may vary.
  • Ensure to review and verify the selected criteria before generating the report.

Step 1: Select the Dates for the Report

Choose the timeframe for your report:

  • Day: Select a specific date.
  • Specific Start and End Date: Choose a range by specifying start and end dates.

Step 2: Select Time (Optional)

If necessary, specify the time range for the report.

Step 3: Export Options

Decide whether you want to export the report or not.

Step 4: Select Locations

Select the locations from which you want to gather sales data. Use the "shift" or "Ctrl" keys to choose multiple locations.

Step 5: Choose Columns to Display

Select the columns you want to include in the report. Note that including more columns may increase the report generation time.

  • No Calculation Columns: Quick pull without any calculations.
  • All: Display all available columns.
  • Small Calculations: Include basic sales calculations.
  • Medium Calculations: Include additional sales status calculations.
  • Large Calculations: Include cost, profit, and gross margin calculations.

Step 6: Choose the Specific Type of Sales Report

Note:  You must check the box next to the search type that you would like to use. If there is a Search button next to the type of report you would like you must click Search

Select how you want to organize and view the sales data:

  • By Salesperson: Organize data based on salespersons.
  • By Location: Organize data based on sales locations.
  • By Zipcode: Organize data based on customer zip codes.
  • By Manufacturer or Item: Filter data based on manufacturers or specific item numbers.
  • View by Customers with a Balance: Focus on customers with outstanding balances.
  • View by Delivered Sales: Include only delivered sales, optionally specifying the date of delivery.
  • View by Undelivered Sales: Include only undelivered sales.
  • View Quotes Only: Include only sales quotes.
  • By Advertising Reference: Filter data based on advertising categories and types.
  • By Type of Future Purchase: Organize data based on categories of future purchases.
  • View by Estimated Date of Delivery: Focus on sales with estimated delivery dates.

By following these steps, you can generate a tailored sales report to suit your specific business needs.
