Search Customer

In the software, you will frequently come to a time where you want to easily be able to search basic information related to a customer, including sales and quotes attached to that customer's account. To do that, you will use the Search Customer page

To access this page, navigate to Sales > Search Customer, and the system will pull up a page like the one below.

Here, you are given 6 different search criteria that you can use. Each one is listed below:

Customer Information: Here, you can search by the customer's name, social security number, or phone number. Searching with this field will pull up all customers with matching information. For example, if you enter "Aaron" under the first name, all customers with the first name "Aaron" will pull up for you to select from. This will take you to the "Search Results" page, described below.

Sale Number: This will search the database for the customer who made the sale number you entered, and will take you directly to the customer's "Application Information" page.

Receipt Number: Here, you can enter the receipt number associated with the sale made for a customer. This will take you directly to the customer's information page.

Quote Number: Here you can enter the quote number to search for the customer a quote was made for.

Enter Item Information: This allows you to enter a Manufacturer and Item Number to see all sales made with that item on them.

Merchant Service Transaction #: Whenever you make a credit or debit card transaction for the customer, there will be a transaction number associated with it. This allows you to search by the transaction ID number to find the sale, and in doing so, the customer who made the sale.

As described in the above definitions, running a search will take you to one of two pages. The first is the "Search Results" page, which is pictured below. This is a page listing all the sales or customers that match the chosen criteria. On this page, you can click the "View" button to select the sale or customer you are interested in. This will take you to the second page that could come up from a search - the customer's "Applicant Information" page, described in detail in the article Search Customer - Application Information.
