How to Display an Alternative ID Instead of the Manufacturer’s Item Number on Website

You have the option to display your own custom alt_id (alternative item number) instead of the manufacturer's SKU or item number on your website. This is useful if you want to prevent direct SKU comparison with competitors or use internal naming conventions.

Step 1: Log In to the Admin Area

Log into the admin portion of your website.

Step 2: Navigate to Product Display Settings

From the admin dashboard, go to Website Settings > Product Display

Step 3: Select the Display Option for SKUs

Under the section "How would you like to display the product’s SKU or Item Number?", you’ll see two options:

⭕ Use the manufacturer's assigned Item Number (default)

🔘 Use the alt_id that I assigned (select this to show your custom identifiers instead)

Select "Use the alt_id that I assigned".

Step 4: Save Your Changes

Click Submit to apply the setting.

Once saved, your website will display the alternative ID wherever item numbers are shown.
