How can I use the Snipping Tool for a Screenshot?

In the event that an issue or concern needs to be brought to the attention of our support staff, it is best to create a screenshot of the image you are viewing on your screen. This will allow us to expedite a trouble ticket faster.

Step 1: Make sure you are on the screen you are trying to show
Step 2: Go to your start icon on the bottom left of your screen and search for Snipping Tool (you can save this as a shortcut to your start menu or pin to taskbar to use in the future)

Step 3: Select the program and drag the mouse across the area you want to zoom in on


4. Once you have selected the area you can then highlight or circle things using the pen or highlighter.

 


5. Now you can Edit and copy your image to paste into a Word docโ€ฆOR you can choose a file and Send it To email. It is best to place it to a Word doc or directly in the email. If you put it in a Word doc you can then use INSERT - Shapes to add pointer arrows, circles, and text notations. Keep in mind you can change the color and the transparency of the shape so if you are circling something you need to change the FILL COLOR to NO FILL
